Happy June, everyone! It’s time for me to share what I did with both my reading and bullet journal spreads for this month. I’m so happy with the way that my bullet journal came out (although I may need more space for tasks soon)! My reading journal has been a bit of a challenge as I’ve been feeling a bit uninspired with the kraft paper, but I think it turned out alright. Here’s what they look like!
April Reading Journal Setup
Title Page & TBR
I was really feeling yellow this month, so I decided to theme my reading journal around that. I also love the way that my sepia Pigma Microns look against the kraft paper, so I used those. I started with the washi tape and stickers, and then decided it needed a little bit more! So I added floral doodles to make it look fuller.
Books and Pages Read
I always struggle when there’s the transition between kraft and black paper! However, I don’t think this looks too bad? Maybe?
I also didn’t add the floral doodles on the “Read” page. June is going to be a busy month, but sometimes I end up surprising myself! So I’m leaving lots of room on this spread – just in case!
April Bullet Journal Setup
Title Page & Calendar
I decided on a Pride Month theme for my June bullet journal spreads and I love how this turned out! I started with a serif font and added some rainbow stripes for the title page. It was easy to do, and I think it looks pretty good too!
After that, I put in my goals and at-a-glance calendar. This system is working perfectly for me as I reference it weekly, which was the goal! Monthly bullet journals haven’t worked well for me previously because of all the page flipping, so I’m glad I found a system that works for me.
Weekly Spread
Things are similar to my April spreads here, but I did add a little ‘notes’ section in the top-right corner. I found that I needed a little scratchpad/brain dump area, so this should do the trick!
As I start working multiple jobs, I may find soon that I don’t have a ton of space. Previously having six lines per day has helped me not over-plan, but I’ll see how this goes for this month! I’m also starting to incorporate digital planning methods for work, so this might still work out. We’ll see!
Finally, my week-in-review spread is still going strong. I found that my habit tracker is helping me make sure that I’m getting all of my meals in and still gaining weight. Since it’s all on my weekly spread, maybe I could do other trackers as well? But for now, I’ll keep things simple. The goal checks have also been really helpful for determining what my focus should be for the next week. This is where I reference my monthly spread and make sure I’m aligned with my monthly goals!
That’s everything for both my reading and bullet journal this month. If you journal too and share your spreads, whether on your blog or Instagram, or elsewhere, let me know! I’d love to see them! 🖤
