Today I’m sharing my November 2020 Reading Journal setup! In my Archer & Olive Neapolitan journal. Currently I’m in the middle of the blackout pages, which made me unsure at first of how to theme my spreads. However, I think it turned out pretty alright!

As opposed to past months I ended up taking out the third page of spreads, so now my monthly layouts are a bit shorter. I think this will make setting up my spreads a bit easier and only leave in the things that I want to refer back to.

Since my supplies are limited with blackout pages, and I wanted to try a warm theme for November, I ended up using lots of white and gold. I struggled at first to get this right, but I do like how it turned out. Here’s what ended up doing!

I used the Autumn Moon to try and letter with on these pages. This ended up being much easier than doing gothic lettering last month! I really liked how this turned out and I want to continue with using fonts on Fontspace rather than brush lettering something and hoping for the best.

You know, I think these gel pens are really growing on me! I think as long as I get the right gel pens they’ll be easier to use. I think my opinions of gel pens are slightly negative because the ones I used as a kid were so cheap and half of them were dried out before I even used them. I think it’s time to get some black ones so I can use them on white and kraft paper!

I also used white paint pens to create these ferns throughout. After putting down the gold washi tape I felt like it still needed something. Luckily, this only took a few minutes and I think it turned out alright!

Read and Pages Read

Yet again, nothing’s changed here! I thought the gold gel pens and paint pens (and washi tape) all clashed at first, but I’m a little less bothered by it now.

I also figured it would be nice to not over-decorate the books read spread. Lately I’ve been reading more than I originally planned and I keep running out of room to actually write down what I read! I have no idea what November will bring (normally I’m trying to get my holiday shopping done early, plus Thanksgiving-related preparation), but hopefully this gives me a little more space to record everything. After all, that’s kind of the point. 😅

Let's Chat

Anyway, that’s all for my reading journal this month! Has anybody moved their reading tracking to digital! I’d be curious to know how you do yours! I’m a big spreadsheet person but for some reason I never converted my reading over to digital.
