Happy almost March! I hope you had a good month in February.
Today I want to share my reading journal setup for March – and to be honest, I don’t really like it much! I went with my usual format, but for the theme I was attempting something pink and Spring-y. It ended up giving me mid-2000’s girly vibes, which is awesome if that’s you’re style, it’s just not mine! But it’s alright – as long as I can track my reads, we’re all good here!
As I start to take on more ARCs as well, I’m actually thinking about changing my format a bit! I would like to add a reminder section for ARCs that are releasing on a particular date so I can remember to go back to promote those. I currently do that in my bullet journal, but it would make more sense for all of that to be in my reading journal, you know?
So without further ado, here’s what my reading journal is looking like for this month:
Title Page & TBR
I’m not feeling super inspired with the kraft paper pages lately, but I did end up deciding on pink and some of my stickers to start. And for the most part, pink isn’t always my color. Yes, I have a pink laptop. And my old blog used to have pink in it. And it depends on the shade of pink, you know? I also don’t wear pink. Actually, I don’t really wear anything that isn’t black or gray. So there’s that, too.
Anyway, my weird relationship with pink aside, I struggled with it a bit. I originally had way more of the color in my spreads too, but I panicked a bit after seeing so much of it and started coloring in more black on the scrapbook paper. I felt like the pink was blending in too much? I also added a little quote to the papers on the title page and drew in some flowers. I have no idea what kind of flowers they are, but my journal doesn’t always have to have rules on perfect anatomy (is that the word?) for flowers, so I’m just going with it this time.
Books and Pages Read
Yeah, so I didn’t really do much at all for these pages! I was so bothered by how the first pages turned out that I just felt like it would be better if I left these pages more minimal. Maybe minimal spreads are what I need to go for in the coming months?
That’s everything for my (semi-chaotic) reading journal process this month. If you journal too and share your spreads, whether on your blog or Instagram, or elsewhere, let me know! I’d love to see them! 🖤

I am loving your journal spreads! I need to pop around and look at them all. What is the one reading related page you cannot live without? This is my first month in a long time trying to bujo and I’m a little overwhelmed. Good luck with your March reading plans.
Thank you! I like having at-a-glance pages for when I either don’t want to reference something digitally, or when I’m writing wrap-ups and need some quick stats. So I like writing what books I read each month (and the ratings next to them). My pages read is good for motivation and keeping my TBR on track. I also have a spread where I take note of how many books are on my physical TBR to make sure it’s going down.
I think what helps make it less overwhelming (at least for me) is reducing the amount of trackers that are necessary (like you’re doing). But for me, the fewer pages I have to flip back to the beginning for, the better (as I tend to not update those).
