Today I’m sharing my December 2020 Reading Journal setup in my Archer & Olive Neapolitan journal. These are the last of the black pages before they go back to white ones.
This is one of those months where I had one idea in my mind, then it evolved into something else. I still like the end result though!
Again, since my supplies for pens and markers on the blackout pages are a bit more limited, I used some other materials to help dress up the pages. I used some scrapbook paper that reminded me a bit of a Christmas wallpaper, and used some Tombow markers and washi tape to add color. It wasn’t my original vision, but I’m okay with it. Here’s how I set it up:
Title Page and TBR
Back in October I recreated a gothic font, which was pretty, but time-consuming! I figured this time I should give it a try with a brush pen, and it was way easier. This was my first time attempting it so it’s spaced a bit unevenly, but I think it will get better with practice!
I pasted in this wallpaper thinking I’d go for a gothic Christmas theme. Then I decided to add color anyway by coloring everything in and adding some washi tape.
I’m writing everything in silver gel pens. Part of me wishes I went with white because I think it might be too many colors now, but I guess it’s alright the way it is!
Read and Pages Read
The usual! I added some wallpaper at the bottom, but not too much! I (hopefully) anticipate that I’ll be reading a lot this month.
Then there’s the pages read spread. I may have gone from writing ‘Pages Read’ to ‘Pages’ to just an open book. I was going to write the whole thing, but…I didn’t! I’ll probably go back to it in future spreads.
Anyway, that’s all for my reading journal this month! Do you have a physical reading tracker? If not, do you think you will start tracking in the new year? Let me know!
